We are incredibly proud to share the outcome of our recent Ofsted inspection at Minibugs Ovenden, carried out on 5 June 2026 under Ofsted’s new inspection framework.

This updated approach moves away from a single overall grade and instead focuses more deeply on safeguarding, inclusion, quality of education, and the lived experiences of children within the setting.

Inspection Outcome

  • Safeguarding: Met
  • Inclusion: Strong standard
  • All other areas: Expected standard

A Reflection of Our Nursery Community

The report highlights the warm, nurturing environment created by our team and recognises the strong relationships built with our children and families. It notes that children experience:

  • “a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment where they feel safe, secure and valued”

Inspectors also recognised the strength of relationships within the nursery, stating that:

  • “staff build trusting relationships with children and their families and provide support that promotes emotional wellbeing and inclusion”

Children’s enjoyment and engagement in their learning is central to the report, which highlights how they:

  • “arrive eager to join their friends… enjoy their learning and engage enthusiastically in a broad range of experiences”

We are particularly proud that our provision for inclusion was recognised as a “strong standard”, with inspectors noting that:

  • “children’s individual needs are consistently recognised and supported” and that “all children make excellent progress from their starting points and develop confidence and independence”

Our Team

This report is a direct reflection of the hard work, care and dedication of our team, who go above and beyond every day to ensure that each child feels valued, supported and inspired to learn.

It also reflects the strength of our partnerships with families, which play a vital role in creating a nurturing and inclusive environment for all children.
