Minibugs Nurseries based in Liskeard held a family fun day on Saturday 30th April to raise money for the Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine Appeal.

The event organised by Nursery Practitioner Dominic Bray and supported by the nursery team from both Minibugs nursery sites in Liskeard and St Austell, was a great success raising £430 as well as also receiving other donations such as clothing and baby supplies for this important cause.

Minibugs Nurseries had amazing support from local businesses around Liskeard, Looe, Talland and Pelynt who donated raffle prizes or money to this event.

Contributors included Lars and Margo Coffee, Liskeard Gift Shop, The Fat Frog Café, Glow, Pendragon Gift Shop, Purely Cornish, Cornish Delights, Copperfish Distillery, The Lookout on the Quay, Riverside Gallery, St Piran’s Photography, Sarah’s Pasty’s, Talland Bay Beach Café, Affina Beauty Studio and The Hive.

Dominic Bray, Nursery Practitioner who was the lead for the event said, ‘I am so grateful to our amazing local business and our families for supporting this event to raise funds for the Ukraine Appeal. I am also extremely grateful for the support from Minibugs Liskeard, St Austell and Head Office. It was so important to us to be able to do something our families could enjoy whilst raising awareness and funds for those people that are being affected by the conflict in Ukraine. Thank you to everyone who supported us with donations and on the day.’

Minibugs Nurseries, based on the Liskeard Hillfort Primary School site is a popular local nursery with a sister site in St Austell.
